OVERVIEW

The B.Sc. in Data Science is a four-year undergraduate professional course under the aegis of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), West Bengal. The course plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of education and industry by equipping students with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in today's data-driven world. Students are drawn to the field of data science due to its immense potential for impacting various domains such as business, healthcare, finance, and more. The scope of data science is vast and ever-expanding, encompassing areas such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, big data analytics, and more.

Students who pursue studies in data science are exposed to a diverse range of technologies and methodologies that empower them to tackle complex problems and make informed decisions based on data-driven insights. The B.Sc. in Data Science serves as a gateway for students to enter a dynamic and rewarding field that not only offers exciting career prospects but also allows them to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of society through data-driven innovation.

With this objective, the course is designed with 19 major subjects, 11 minor subjects, 3 interdisciplinary subjects, 4 ability enhancement subjects, 3 skill enhancement subjects, and 2 value-added subjects.

A 4 years full-time professional undergraduate course, under the aegis of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT).

Passed/ appeared/ due-to-appear in 2025 at Higher Secondary Examination in the General or Vocational Stream under the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination from a recognised Board.

In view of this, we have introduced add-on courses, soft skill enhancement and training programs, which make students more suitable for the industry as well as for higher education courses.
