OVERVIEW

B.Sc. in Medical Lab Technology is a 4-year undergraduate program designed for individuals aspiring to excel in the field of medical laboratory science. This program aimed to impart advanced knowledge and skills in laboratory diagnostic procedures, performing tests crucial for disease diagnosis and treatment, handling sophisticated lab equipment, and analyzing medical specimens. Lab Technicians are considered the backbone of the modern healthcare delivery system. They work in close coordination with the medical specialists. The importance of B.Sc. MLT has been well established during the last few decades. The COVID-19 pandemic has reminded us of the importance of these professionals again. The curriculum covers a wide range of laboratory techniques related to Hematology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, General Pathology, etc.

4 Years full-time professional undergraduate course, under the aegis of, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT).

Passed/ appeared/ due-to-appear in 2025 at Higher Secondary Examination in the General or Vocational Stream under the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination from a recognised Board.

These courses cover areas such as biochemistry, human anatomy and physiology, histotechnology, pathology, hematology, microbiology, immunology, and molecular diagnostics etc.
• Hands-on Laboratory Training: Students typically spend significant time in laboratory settings, where they learn to perform various diagnostic tests, handle specimens, operate laboratory equipment, and interpret results.
• Quality Control and Compliance: Focus on accuracy, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Interdisciplinary Education: Includes medical ethics, and healthcare management.
